JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance have announced they are expecting a baby boy—but the timing of the due date has sent social media into overdrive.
On January 20, Usha Vance shared a statement from her husband on X, revealing that the couple is preparing to welcome their fourth child. “We’re very excited to share that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the message read. “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”
The statement also expressed gratitude to the military medical staff caring for their family and acknowledged the support that allows them to serve the country while raising their children. Usha added a short caption of her own, saying simply that their family is growing.
It didn’t take long for online jokesters to get to work—particularly those with long memories. Some users quickly connected the baby news to Vance’s much-discussed Halloween costume from last year.
So what does a baby announcement have to do with a Halloween outfit?
Back in 2025, after becoming the subject of viral memes, Vance leaned into the joke for Halloween. The memes stemmed from a tense February meeting between President Donald Trump, Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which Vance pointedly asked Zelenskyy, “Have you said thank you once?”
