🍩 Homemade Donuts Recipe

1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

2. Rest & Shape:
Cover the dough and rest for 45–60 minutes until slightly puffy.
Roll out on a floured surface to about ½-inch thickness.
Cut donuts using a donut cutter or two round cutters.

3. Fry the Donuts:
Heat oil to 350°F / 175°C.
Fry donuts in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Make the Chocolate Glaze:
Whisk powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth and glossy.

5. Glaze the Donuts:
Dip cooled donuts into the chocolate glaze.
Let excess drip off and allow glaze to set.

6. Serve:
Enjoy fresh, soft homemade donuts! 🍩✨

Tips:
For a lighter version, bake in a donut pan at 180°C / 350°F for 12–15 minutes.

Add sprinkles, chopped nuts, or white chocolate drizzle for variations.
